Now...Jonathan's Dream

A week before Jonathan departed from us he told his mom about a dream he had. He dreamt he was on a yellow school bus flying through the sky. The bus had no wings yet it was flying through the sky on it's way to heaven. The bus was called the Fun Bus to Heaven. As the bus flew through the sky, it passed over some of his friends houses and he could see them standing on the ground. He pounded on the window yelling at them to get on the bus but they could not because they did not know the LORD. He could feel the happiness of Heaven was a thousand times better than anything that he could experience here and wanted his friends to be on the bus with him. He had tears in his eyes as he told his mom this dream. Jonathan knew he was going to heaven and Jesus was his way there. He desperately wanted his friends to be on the bus with him. He knew his purpose in life was to be a witness to his friends.

Jonathan told his mother much more about his dream than what is written here. Maybe one day she can share it with you.

Jonathan continues to witness to us all not only through his spirit and legacy, but also physically through the gifts that he has left for five special people to continue their journey in this life.

We all miss you Jonathan but we know you are with us. Peaceful journey Lil' Dude!! We know you are having fun!!!

Love always,
Uncle Ahmed

J-Rock lives on! To his mother: Linda, there are no words to describe the faith and strength I have witnessed in you the past week. You are an incredible human being. May God continue to give you the kind of strength and faith you have always shown in Him. Jonathan is a hero to all and especially to the 5 individuals whom he gave his gift of life. I pray that the knowledge of such a profound gift will give you some solace and comfort and help you cope and continue through your journey in life. Remember you are loved. To both Jonathan and Linda and the rest of their family and friends: May God bless you all and be with you always.

BUD I WILL FOREVER MISS YOU.
I LOVE YOU SOO MUCH

Ahmed Kenyatta August 10, 2009 at 7:14 PM

Jonathan, your dream is alive and well and will be honored by those who loves and knows you. I remember when I first saw you and asked who cut your hair. I remember you smiled that beautiful smile and the twinkle in your eye when you told me "it's a secret". Reading your dream, I was wondering if you knew I used to drive school buses. We would be flying over San Diego on a big bus, windows down and music on high, cruising by the beach and soaring over the mountains. You are now our Guardian Angel. I know that you will look after your mom and kiss and hug her in her dreams. I know your spirit will be at every football and lacrosse game cheering on your teammates. I know the 5 people you have gave the gift of life to will live good lives because you are a part of them now. When I look up at the sky, on a clear night, I will think of that twinkle in your eye when I see the stars blinking. You are loved and deeply missed. You rest in peace baby and we will be seeing you.
Love Ms. Yvonne

Jonathan Fain's Family and Friends,

Jonathan will be missed. My prayers go out to you all.

To Linda & Family;

I pray that God continues to give you strength. I did not know Jonathan but I know that he was an amazing human being as he was raised by a Woman who continually puts God first. How lucky those 5 recipients are to have a part of Jonathan living within each of them. May his love for God live on in each of them.

As John 11:25-26 states" I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." Jonathan will live on in each of the five recipients.

May God Bless You.

Hello Ahmed,
I am not sure if this message will get to Ahmed or Jonathan's mother. Thank YOU!!!! for being used by God. I am not sure what your faith is, but I live in Houston TX and just happened upon your radio station a few weeks ago over the internet. I am sooooo glad that you were used by God to share Jonathan's tesitmony and dream. Tonight I am going to share the web page with my neices and nephews and ask them to commit to the Lord in their hearts. The scripture said that whosoever will... let them come.....I know God will do an awesome work in young people and old alike because of Jonathan's life and witness

God Bless You and my condolences,

Aaron Maree August 10, 2009 at 11:47 PM

Hello this is Aaron Maree Mira Mesa Marauder. When I first met Jonathan, he was new to our school. I didn't really know him that much. Later on he had the same after school math class as me and was on my same football team. At first he was very quiet and didn't say much to me. But when he started to know me he started to get more goofy and i realized how cool he was. one day Jonathan came up to me with a flyer that said "Youth Football". He walked up to me so excited about it. He kept asking me if he should and if he would be good. I just told him he should because it would be fun. One thing i will always be happy about is talking Jonathan in to playing, and even though our Jr. Midget season was bad, i'm glad he experienced a great eight man team. R.I.P Squints. Your legacy will live on.

Gina Collier (twins mom) August 11, 2009 at 12:00 PM

Hello my name is Gina Collier, the twins mom. I first had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan in 2002, I'm not sure if many of you all know, but he played basketball. I had the pleasure of coaching such a talented, polite, young man. Even back then, at the age of 7, I could see what a GREAT kid Linda was raising. To our surprise, we once again met up in our lives, and I THANK GOD for such a blessing to be able to meet up with Jonathan and Linda again.
Linda, your faith has always been so strong, I admire that about you, always.
May God Bless you and the family, and Jonathan, you will be missed and remember ALWAYS!

Linda Me and Mom are praying for you and the family that God will surround you with his Love now and Always. Jonathan lived and gave life to others and so he will continue to live on. To Linda, may God grant you peace in the midst as you go through. From what I have read, He already is. May your son's testimony make a difference in the lives of others, bringing his friends to know Christ as he did, so they can one day join him on the bus. I'm sorry I won't be able to make it out to his pre or celebration, but I celebrate at any rate. Much love and prayers, Wendy Bauer

That bright yellow bus will continue to be an ever-lasting image of Jonathan. When we see and feel the warmth of the "yellow" sun spreading its warmth upon us, I will think of Jonathan. At night when the heavenly stars shine "yellow" again I will think of Johathan as he spreads the word of the Lord upon all of us on his "yellow" school bus. May God bless his very special family.

Sorry to hear about this young man. Sounds like heaven gained a good angel. I would like to know how how this young boy passed away?

Mrs. Wood August 13, 2009 at 10:23 AM

To Jonathan's mom, other family members, and friends,
Last year I was honored with teaching Jonathan at Wangenheim MS. He was so smart, inquisitive, and clearly loved his family. I will miss him dearly. I remember telling his mom that I was impressed with his being so up to date on current events. She told me that every morning during breakfast, she and Jonathan watched the news and started out the day learning about the world together. What a wonderful routine, what a wonderful mom, what an amazing young man. You are missed, Jonathan.

Jordan August 13, 2009 at 7:25 PM

Jonathan Fain was like a brother to me. He was smart and really funny and everything Jonathan did he put 110% into it. Jonathan was a good athlete and he is LOVED by EVERYONE.
I will miss Jonathan very much. R.I.P Jonathan.

Jonathan was a great friend, one who would always put a smile on your face. We always sat together at lunch everyday, he was always there chatting it up with everyone making us all laugh. We had some good laughs during lunch. We had Science class together and we made the best out of it. Jonathan made my 14th Birthday one to remember. You're up in heaven looking down on us, watch over me bro. You will forever be missed but never forgotten. Love you Man. Kaden King

Mr. Mendoza August 14, 2009 at 1:12 PM

Jonathan was one of kind. Jonathan was not only a good student but he was also a friend to his peers. I am honored to have taught "JFain." If you were in my math class 1st period this past school year with JFain you know what I'm talking about. JFain always made me laugh and made teaching fun. I had the honor to play basketball with JFain. He made me fall on my behind and we all laughed. I will miss you JFain. Thanks for making me a better teacher. Mr. Mendoza

"I'll lend you for a little while
A child of mine," God said,
"For you to have the while he lives,
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three;
But will you 'till I call him back
Take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
And, should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
As a solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return;
But there are lessons taught below
I want this child to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
In search for teachers true;
And from the throngs that crowd life's land,
I have chosen you.

Now, will you give him all your love
Nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take
This lent child back again?"

I fancied that I heard them say:
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joys Thy child will bring
The risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shower him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may.
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay.

But should Thy angel call for him
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand."

Jonathan was always one of my bestfriends. I remember when I was one of the very first people to meet him when he first came to Wangenheim. He was probably one of the chillest people I had ever met. Jonathan Fain, GOD bless. I don’t no what happened but now hes in a better place. Wow I wish this hadn’t happened. Everyone wishes it didn’t. I didn’t even no him that long only since I started lifting like right after school got out a few months ago. The cool thing is, being apart of football not only makes you tough but it brings us closer together until we become a family. Jonathan he was family dispite the short term relationship. He was a good kid, everyone who knew him liked him, and he was even one of our very talented players on the football team. Just can’t believe it. I even cryed the night I heard, no joke. I'm just happy I got to be his friend before he passed on. keep him in your heart as i will.

Hey. This is Brian Taylor of the Mira Mesa Marauders. I only knew Jonathan for over half a year but every day I would go to school and see him say hi and stuff then go to class. But then when we started playing football for mmhs, it was all different. We would go to practice and he would help me out if I was doing something wrong. We were one family one purpose. I am forever a better player because of Jonathan a.k.a squints. Lots of love for his family. I know it must be hard by your doing great. My seasons for him.

Jonathan was only in my life for a season but it will never be forgotten. The lord put him into our lives for a reason. His smile, his effort, his love for football, god, life, family all made an impact on me that will always remain. In the grind of life you often forget the things that are important and the joy that certain things bring like playing a sport. Jonathan always knew the joy of playing football and giving it everything he had. He never took things for granted. Though his life was short his impact will be long lasting. I will never forget the lessons i learned from him or the impact he had on our Marauder family.

As a mother, I cannnot begin to imagine what you are going through, but want you to know that we are all here for you at any time. Because we are parents as well, just know that God has us all here to surround you and help you through this time. It has been hard on the boys knowing they have lost a teammate, a part of their Football Family, but I know as they play this season, it will all be for Jonathan. To the parents and family of Jonathan,

I met Jonathan once, through my grandson, at their 6th grade graduation. The pictures we took of the boys horsing around and their beautiful smiles will always be treasured by my grandson and me. I also watched his performance, playing the part of Joseph, at Midway Baptist school. He left an everlasting impression on me. So sweet, so articulate, such a beautiful smile. I pray that God will continue to heal your hearts and leave you with beautiful memories of Jonathan to last until once again you are reunited.

God loves you.

To Linda:

It did my heart well to be able to attend Jonathan's home going...when I heard all the awesome things said about him and how much he loved the Lord I thought that he truly is leaving a legacy for all young people to model themselves after. It's funny how we think you have to be on this earth a long time to fulfill your purpose that God has for you but this shows us that God uses us for such a time as this. I want to let you know your strength and your faith in God is truly inspiring to me and I pray that God continues to uphold you and your family during this difficult time. Hold on to God's unchanging hand until you meet Jonathan again.

I love you dearly....

Squint made me realize what the essense of coaching is all about, I first met Squint in Jan 09 for 8 man practice from the very first time we met I knew he was a special person, because whatever Coach Lomax,Coach Corpus or Coach Greg would tell him, he would take it all in and look at you with a thirst in his eyes for more information about this great game of football that we all love,Squint always wanted to be a better player but in all actuality he made everyone he touched a better person. Squint you did your task that God sent you down here on earth to do now your back home with your maker, so sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. SQUINT R.I.P. you will always be loved and missed.Coach Brooks

Jonathan was so funny, everyday in PE I'd get picked on by the older kids, and he was the only one in the upper grade who would stand up for me and actually treat me like an equal. Goodluck, Jonathan. What an amazing boy.

This is the first that I have heard of this tragic incident. I remember when Jonathan attended daycare with my little sister and he would come over to our house sometimes to play. I opened up my photo album today and saw a picture of him at my sister's birthday party. I asked my sister about him and she showed me this website. My prayers go out to the family and we all miss you dearly! See you soon Angel - for you are now in a better place. Much love, Ashley Torian (older sister of Taylor Springfield - who attended daycare w/Jonathan)
